Mr. Evans grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, where he attended Floyd College. Mr. Evans was employed with Unilever, NV for 15 years as the Materials Planner. In 2001 he started the real estate investment company, Augsburg Investments. Through this company he focuses on multifamily, industrial and commercial properties. Augsburg is one of the largest real estate holding companies in Bartow County.In addition to Augsburg Investments, Mr. Evans also owns BlackRock Realty. This company was formed primarily to focus on managing acquisitions and select fee managed multifamily, single family and manufactured housing opportunities in the surrounding counties. BlackRock is a vertically integrated company that manages on behalf of customers, clients and partners ranging from individual owners to investors, lenders and financial institutions.Mr. Evans currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce where he is also a member of the Finance Committee. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Good Neighbor Homeless Shelter. Mr. Evans and his wife Tammy reside in Cartersville. They have one daughter, Ashton.
Mr. Fehlenberg graduated from Loma Linda University in 1981 with a BBA. He continued his education, earning a MAcc from the University of Georgia in 1983, and then a JD from Georgia State University in 1995. Mr. Fehlenberg is principal of Steven R. Fehlenberg & Co. P.C., a financial planning and advisory firm formed in 1993, with offices in Marietta and Calhoun, Georgia. His professional affiliations include the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the State Bar of Georgia, and the American Bar Association.Mr. Fehlenberg is the immediate past president of the Calhoun Georgia Kiwanis club, is the chairman of the Southern Adventist University Endowment fund, a Board member of Gordon Hospital, located in Gordon County, Georgia and a Board member of Smyrna Towers, a HUD retirement community in Greater Atlanta. Mr. Fehlenberg and his wife, Judy, have two children, reside in Calhoun, Georgia and are members of the Georgia Cumberland Academy SDA Church.
Mr. Fuquea is a native of Gordon County, Georgia. Hehas spent his career in the waste management industry. Mr. Fuquea has served as the Vice President of Market Development for Santek Waste Services for the last fourteen years, where he is responsible for business development and large account management. Mr. Fuquea is a member of several professional organizations including Solid Waste Association of North America, Georgia Recycle Coalition, Tennessee Recycle Coalition, Tennessee Municipal League, and America Public Works Association. Moreover, Mr. Fuquea is very active in the Gordon County community, including past service with the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce as Chairman, on the Board of Directors and on the Executive Board. He is currently a member of the Gordon County Governmental Affairs Committee and the Calhoun/Gordon County Developmental Authority Board. Mr. Fuquea and his wife reside in Calhoun, Georgia. They have two children.
Mrs. Lasko is a small business owner in the flooring industry. She has served as President of Fluid Floors, Inc. since founding the company in 2004. Mrs. Lasko holds a BS in Public Relations from the University of Florida. She and her husband reside in Acworth, Georgia.
Mr. Leeper was born in Mt. Shasta, CA in 1960. He spent part of his early life in New Jersey, graduating from Garden State Academy in Tranquility, NJ in 1978. He enrolled in Loma Linda University, Riverside, CA, graduating with a BS in Computing /Administration in 1982.Upon graduation, Mr. Leeper was employed by Loma Linda University Medical Center from 1982-1994. He worked in the IT Department developing and maintaining patient care and patient business software applications.Mr. Leeper has spent much of his career at the crossroads of the health care industry and high technology, improving clinical documentation for healthcare providers nationally. From 1994-2014, Mr. Leeper was employed with J.A. Thomas and Associates (JATA), in Atlanta. He was responsible for all customer facing technology as well as all internal technology usage. As a partner in the firm, he was the direct supervisor for the vice president of finance. In 2012, J.A. Thomas and Associates was sold to Nuance Communications, Inc.Mr. Leeper resides in Cartersville, GA with his wife Ruthanne. They have four children.
Mr. Thompson is a serial entrepreneur raised on a farm in rural Montana. He founded several successful companies over the past 25 years beginning with Coverstar Automatic Pool Covers in 1988. After relocating to the metro Atlanta area in 1990, Coverstar was transformed from a Florida operation into a Southeast operation with over 6000 clients. This unique client base comprised of professional athletes, famous musicians, and TV celebrities has earned Coverstar SE the distinction as the largest in the Southeast.In 2007, Mr. Thompson launched The Thompson Group Insurance, an organization comprised of several individual insurance agencies strategically situated in North Georgia. The Thompson Group has rapidly become a model for other Allstate Agency owners throughout the United States. Also in 2007, Mr. Thompson co-found Quote Burst. This company automates the mundane prospecting processes within an insurance agency, allowing greater time to be spent personally engaging prospects and clients. Quote Burst currently supports nearly 80% of all Allstate agencies throughout the United States. His organization has won several awards including President’s, Chairman’s, Inner Circle, Rookie of the Year, and many others.Mr. Thompson has served as a key note speaker at Regional and National events such as Leader’s Forum, Line Leaders, and New Agent Training. In 2012, he served as the Chairman of the Cartersville/Bartow County Chamber of Commerce, and the Chairman of Personnel at First Baptist Cartersville. Mr. Thompson also served on the board at the Etowah Scholarship Foundation from 2008-2010. In 2010, the State Insurance Commissioner asked Mr. Thompson to serve on the Insurance Commissioner’s Advisory Team. In 2012, Mr. Thompson was elected to serve in the Georgia General Assembly as a State Senator. He has a heart for service, and it evident in his continued contributions to the community and state. In October 2015, Senator Thompson was recognized by GMA as the Legislator of the Year! Mr. Thompson resides with his wife, Becky, and their two children, Faith and Maxwell reside in White, Georgia.
Mr. Shultz is a 1972 graduate of the School of Business at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. The majority of Mr. Shultz’s working career has been spent in the entertainment industry. He joined Cosmos Broadcasting Corp. in 1972 as Accounting Manager of a Toledo, Ohio television station. In 1974 he was promoted to Business Manager of the company’s radio and television stations in Columbia, South Carolina. He joined Rounsaville Radio, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, in 1976 as a financial vice president. In 1979 Mr. Shultz began a 22 year association with Turner Broadcasting System when he became Controller of SuperStation TBS. His responsibilities later included financial accounting and budgetary oversight of Turner’s advertising sales, program sales, and programming divisions. In 1984 he was named Vice President Business Affairs, Entertainment Companies and began to travel extensively, working with the company’s programming and production partners in the United States and abroad. He was deeply involved with the 1986 Moscow and the 1990 Seattle Goodwill Games. Later he was named Senior Vice President of Business Affairs for the company’s music production, publishing and soundtrack distribution interests.In 2001, Mr. Shultz retired from Turner Broadcasting. He is presently the owner and president of Summit Business Services, LLC, Milton, Georgia and the chairman of NorthSide Holdings, LLC, Adairsville, Georgia. Over the years Mr. Shultz has been active in a number of professional organizations including serving as chairman of the Cable Committee of the Broadcasting/Cable Financial Management Association and as a director of the Atlanta Chapter of the Institute of Management Accounting.
Dr. Carman was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon finishing high school in Calhoun, he attended college at Southern Adventist University. Dr. Carman continued his education at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, graduating in 1977 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.Dr. Carman taught on the staff of the dental school at Loma Linda University before continuing his dental education in Endodontics. Dr. Carman received a Masters of Science degree in Endodontics from Loma Linda University in 1980.In July of 1980, Dr. Carman started his endodontic practice, West Georgia Endodontics, in Austell, Georgia, where he currently practices. Dr. Carman is a member of the American Association of Endodontics and in 1979 was the student representative to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Carman has been involved with overseas dental mission work and is an active member in his local church. Dr. Carman was the President of the National Association of Seventh-Day Adventist Dentist in 1996. Dr. Carman and his wife have four children and reside in Adairsville, Georgia.
Robert J. “Bobby” Cox, Chairman Emeritus
Mr. Cox was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Upon finishing high school, Mr. Cox signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers and attended Reedley Junior College in the off season. Mr. Cox played with the New York Yankees in 1968 and 1969. Mr. Cox was forced to retire after the 1970 season due to injuries. Mr. Cox began his managerial career in 1971. Mr. Cox managed in the minor leagues until 1976, and was called back up to the major leagues as a coach in 1977. Ted Turner hired Mr. Cox as the Atlanta Braves Manager in 1978.Mr. Cox managed the Atlanta Braves through 1981, and then signed with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1982 leading them to the team’s first American League Division Championship in 1985. He returned to the Atlanta Braves in 1986 as General Manager. After five years, his heart led him back to the field as manager where he remained until his retirement at the end of the 2010 season.Mr. Cox has served on the Braves Board of Directors for a number of years. He has won Manager of the Year in both the American and National Leagues, and led the Braves to 14 consecutive National League Division Titles between 1991 and 2005, winning one World Series Championship in 1995. He is one of the top five “winningest” managers of all time.Mr. Cox resides in Marietta Georgia, but spends much of his free time in his country home located for the past two decades in Adairsville, Georgia. Mr. Cox served as a director of the Company and the Bank from its inception in 2005, and as Chairman of the Bank from 2010, until his retirement in September 2017. Mr. Cox’s leadership and service on several committees were greatly valued by the Board of Directors.
